If you prefer to use this gui instead of the openvpn-gui, go to OpenVPNPortable\other\OpenVPNPortableSource folder and open the OpenVPNPortable.ini file with any text editor such as Notepad. At the second last line, change the ShowGUI=openvpn-gui.exe to ShowGUI=TinyOpenVPNGui.exe and save the changes. Copy the OpenVPNPortable.ini file to OpenVPNPortable folder.

Hi, guys. I would like to know if there is a way to bypass running the portable openvpn executable as non admin. I want to use this on a public computer which do not allow me to run the executable as ADMIN hence I cannot install the adapter.

The server configuration doesn't have any initial endpoints of its peers (the clients). This is because the server discovers the endpoint of its peers by examining from where correctly authenticated data originates. The nice thing about ipsec vpn's is that there is a fair amount of intervendor interoperability that is possible. A mixed vendor ipsec network with Cisco, Juniper and Ubiquiti endpoints is possible. OpenVPN is portable to lots of different platforms. Will wireguard ever be more than just a linux thing? I agree with Andreas; this is a bug in openvpn. I have local office gateway servers with an internal PCI ADSL modem that runs embedded Linux and is configured in RFC 1483 LLC Bridge mode. The Host PC uses PPPoE to connect to the ISP via the embedded ADSL modem over the single ATM LLC available from BT in the U.K.
It would actually save our users a lot trouble especially for those using portable devices over public WiFi or cellular data when they use OpenVPN since many cellular operates also do not provide a gateway IP for the default route.
